Select resources within a package to deploy

We'd like to be able to make comprehensive packages and then only deploy certain assets/resources that are relevant to that particular client when we deploy the package. For example, we have a lot of clients in the financial services industry, but they don't all need the same exact custom objects. We'd rather not build three different packages that have mostly the same assets because that makes upkeep tricky.
