Improved Feature

Packages

Required Plan: Partner

Improved Feature: HubSpot Resources made Easier

The Old Way -

  • In the past, you would set up a package and then when you installed it, you had to create a client account, assign package in client account, add it to a team, etc.

  • If you wanted to update the package, you’d have to uninstall & reinstall.

  • If you had it in multiple bases, you’d have to uninstall and then re-add it to those bases.

  • You would lose all install history when uninstalling and reinstalling.

  • Generally speaking, it was a lot of steps and pretty confusing depending on how things were set up.

Updated: How do you Install the HubSpot Assets & Packages?

  1. Navigate to the HubSpot Installs portal [Partner → HubSpot Resources]

  2. Click Install Assets on the top right corner

  3. Select the package you want to install.

    • These will only be packages that have HubSpot resources.

    • Only the HubSpot resources are installed.

    • No client account or base is selected.

  4. Click Install.

  5. The Install Process is the same as before.

  6. As you install, the account ID and name will be filled out.

Important: You still build and install packages the same way.

More Details for the Extra Curious 👀 -

  • To be clear, package creation has not changed. When you go to install, you install the same way as before.

  • We have added a new tab under your Partner tab called “HubSpot Resources” which is a list of your partner package installs for HubSpot. This gives you a record of all installs, even if they’re in a client account.

  • This allows you to install packages using your partner account without having to go into your clients account, which is a big change and simplifies a lot.

  • When you install a package, we’ll automatically grab the Account name and/or ID so you can track what all has been installed in a single account.

  • Every time you install into a different base, it’ll make a new version of that package.

  • Instead of getting 4 resources, for example, you’ll get just 1 with external resources and you can expand and see all the resources underneath it.

New features of the package installer 🤩-

  • You can now keep notes about the install.

  • If you install a package accidentally, you can archive it to clean up your list and you can view any archived package installs without losing the information.

  • See how many resources were installed or any error counts that occurred.

  • Search by name, notes, or install account.

  • Even if you uninstall a package, you’ll always have the history of that install to view.

  • Automatically capture the account that a package is being installed into.
