New Feature: New Default Options for Access Controls in Bases

What: We are introducing a new default access control group option for your bases. This option will represent users that are not explicitly added directly or through groups.

Need to know:

  • By default, no access is given.

  • After adding a user/group, a default “everybody else” group will appear

    • This allows you to grant access to users not explicitly included in the access controls.

  • Example: I might give direct access controls to a user or group that can read, edit, and delete and give read only access to everybody else.

How to edit access control:

  1. Click the 3 dots next to the base you want to edit access controls for.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Click Add User or Add Group to add your access controls.

  4. Type in user name or group name to select.

  5. Adjust access controls for read, update, delete options.

  6. New default option populates: Everybody Else

  7. Adjust access controls for read, update, delete options for everyone else in your organization or leave unchecked to keep access strictly to the user or group selected.

  8. Once all of your access control selections are made, click Save.
