Improved Feature

Bases, Cards, & Guides

Required Plan: Everyone

Previous state: There was no clear way to let a user watch a video or complete an alternative task while walking through a guide before immediately moving onto the next guided step.

Improved state: We have added a new action to the guide creator and editor that allows you to pause the flow of a guide so the user can do something else (i.e. watch a video, fill out a form) before hitting next to continue.

  • Action added: Insert Wait & Resume Step

  • How to add this step to your guide:

    • Option 1 - During recording:

      1. Right click (or two finger tap).

      2. Click Sidekick Guide Recorder.

      3. Click Insert Wait and Resume Step.

      4. If you want to give it a specific name and description (i.e. complete the form, watch the video), remember to edit the guide afterwards. Otherwise, it will remain at the default of “Resume when ready”.

    • Option 2 - After recording (edit):

      1. Go to your guide and click Edit.

      2. Go to the desired location for adding a ‘wait & resume’ step and click Add Step.

      3. Click Insert Wait and Resume Step.

      4. Give this new step a title and description or leave it as the default of “Resume when ready”.

Improved Feature

Packages

Required Plan: Partner

We have another frequently used table that has been updated for better use and efficiency.

Path: Partner → Partner Packages

Recent improvements:

  • Added:

    • “Created At” column

    • Filtering by assigned teams or tags

      • see all packages assigned to a specific team or tag quickly

    • Collapsibility of assigned teams

      • Previous state: If applicable, you would see 30+ accounts on a package creating a long list that was frankly annoying to scroll through.

      • Improved state: By default, we only show a few assigned accounts and you can expand or collapse the remainder of accounts on the list, as needed.

  • Compressed:

    • Action items compressed into the “3 dot” dropdown

      • Open

      • Add Account

      • Clone

      • Delete

  • Sorting:

    • How to: Click the column name for either of the options below.

      • By name (sort A → Z or Z → A)

      • # Installs (sort lowest → highest or highest → lowest)

      • Created at (sort recent → oldest or oldest → recent)

Improved Feature

Processes

Required Plan: Everyone

Previous state: There was no easy way to see what boards your rules were associated with. It was a guessing game, which could be frustrating.

Improved state: You now have clear visibility into the boards that each rule is on.

  • How to view this: Click the "Process Board" tab inside the rule editor to instantly see every board where that rule is currently in play.

Improved Feature

Updates

Required Plan: Everyone

We’ve gotten a lot of feedback on updates that sit too long and we’re excited to share this improved feature with you!

Previous state: An update has been out for a while and it’s still showing up for your team, which can be really annoying.

Improved state: Once an update reaches the “# Days Update is Shown” and expires, the update will be marked as “missed” and will no longer be shown to your team.

  • Default: This defaults to 14 days and you can adjust under “Audience”

  • Missed: View under the “Analytics” tab once the update is published

Improved Feature

Processes

Required Plan: Everyone

We are continuing to make improvements to process boards so that the experience is smoother for you!

Recent improvements:

  • First column:

    • Sticky: The first column is now sticky and will stay on the screen as you scroll horizontally.

    • Minimum width: The first column will always have a minimum width to prevent making the column so small that you can't read it.

  • Horizontal scrollbar:

    • Removed: The horizontal scrollbar would previously block the very bottom row of the table and has been removed to alleviate that pain point.

  • Refresh:

    • Works as expected: Previously, when you clicked on a process board and then refreshed, you’d be directed to the “All” tab and have to click into the board again. Now, it works as you’d expect — When refreshed, the page will remain on that process board.

Improved Feature

Packages

Required Plan: Partner

Previous state:

  • View all - You would see all resources being installed whether completed or in progress.

Improved state:

  • Hide - While installing a package, completed resources will automatically hide themselves from the list once installed.

    • This includes sections as they’re completed.

  • Opt In - You can opt-in to showing completed resources during install by clicking the checkbox for “Show completed resources during install”.

  • Completed - Once the package is fully installed, all resources are then shown to confirm what was installed.

Improved Feature

Processes

Required Plan: Everyone

Intent:

  • Clear - Provide better clarity around who is a member of a process board and to have the ability to set this from the start.

Previous state:

  • Access control - Previous name of the section housing users and groups within a process board along with their read, update, delete, and prioritize designations.

  • Edit only - Access controls were only available when editing a board. There was no ability to add users or groups at the creation of a board.

  • No default - There was no default user or group setting. The access control section was empty until users or groups were added.

Improved state:

  • Board members - We have replaced the name “access controls” with “board members”.

  • Edit & Create - Board members can be added to a board upon the creation of a board as well as when a board is being edited.

  • Default - Everyone has read, update, and delete access on a process board from onset.

Improved Feature

Processes

Required Plan: Everyone

Previous state: All users would be present on a process board and you would have to go in and pin users you wanted to easily view and/or hide users you didn’t want to see.

Improved state: With the “Manual Only” option, you can now start with a clean slate and manually select the users or groups you want to add to the process board.

  • Manually select - Choose exactly which users and groups are tracked on a process board, rather than having them added automatically when a rule is triggered.

    • Note: You do still have the option to “Auto” add users, if you choose.

  • Analytics - Analytics and records will only reflect the users you’ve explicitly added.

How to access this feature:

  1. On the process board page, click the settings icon in the leaderboard or rankings box.

  2. Select Manual Only.

  3. Select the Sort Order you want to utilize for this board.

  4. Click Add next to any users or groups you want to trigger on this board.

  5. Click Save.

Improved Feature

Required Plan: Everyone

Previous state: After joining or creating a new team, the user would log in to their account and see a red banner to install the Chrome extension.

Improved state: When joining or creating a new team, there will be a new step added to the flow requesting the user to install the Chrome extension before logging in.

  • They will have three options:

    • Install Chrome Extension - Directs the user to chrome to install.

    • I’ve installed it - Confirms that the extension has already been installed.

    • Skip for now - They can bypass this and the red banner will still appear after log in, prompting them to install the Chrome extension.
